The unchellenged "King of Masuria"

Tests/Reviews

Maxus 33.1 RS surprised me very positively, first of all, with its sailing features, secondly, with the space it provides below the deck, and thirdly, with a nice design, far removed from the comparison of a 10-foot yacht to "a large barn". Undoubtedly, this model can be considered as aesthetic and sailor-friendly. It is easy to sail it as well as manoeuvring in port, provided that the port is big enough for a vessel of this size. Steering wheel worked brilliantly, and it is probably the best fitting of all the wheels available on other Masurian yachts.

Anyway, in the test conditions, which was the wind of the speed of 8-15 kn, Maxus with a wheel reached a good speed, even well above 6 kn wind, at which it was precisely controlled with a hydraulic steering wheel. Very well tailored sails, not destroyed in the course of the season, allowed to sail in close hauled course (see the polar plot), and at the same time quite fast for a cruiser. Good performance is due to a 10-metre waterline, which is so important for displacement yachts.

This model, designed by Jacek Daszkiewicz, set a new standard for Masurian charters – exclusive accessories, full service for the renters and many additional features. From a sailor’s viewpoint it is very also important that the new Maxus was designed based on seven years of experience with the king of north-Masurian charters – Maxus 33. The yacht has a high sail with two storeys of sailings, wonderfully shaped sails and a steering wheel’s base equipped with modern navigation devices

Maxus 33.1 RS was the undisputed winner of the test! It is excellently crafted, well thought out, and sails well. It provides comfort of living and sailing, and a good speed even without the luxurious extras.
